What you will Need:
- A new light bulb (if you don’t know what kind of light bulb you need you will have to first take out the old broken light bulb)
- a screwdriver (if you have a cover)
- something to reach the light bulb such as a chair counter or using your bed
Safety Precautions:
- if you can make sure that whatsoever you are using to get to the light bulb is sturdy
- try to have someone with you (in case you fall or need something)
- If you forget to turn off the power, you might get a electric shock – in this case someone will need to call the Emergency Management Services on 10177
How to fix a light bulb:
- take off the cover (if you have one, try to make sure you also do not lose any of the screws)
- turn off the electricity this is because you do not want to shock yourself or get electrocuted
- take out the old broken light bulb
- screw in the new light bulb when doing this you do not want to screw the light bulb in too much. It must be finger tight.
- turn on the power to see if the light bulb works if the light bulb works and you have a cover turn off the electricity. This will ensure when you are putting the cover back on you are not blinded by the light.
